We spent a few days here before/ after the trek. It’s very much a tourist town. But actually more like a ghost town at the moment because it’s not really picking up post-covid which is a crying shame. Lovely to chill in for a few days.

Here are a few snaps.

Pokhara Lake

Henry lost a tooth! Also, Charlotte lost two in India!

Our homestay with our trekking company owner – Happy Treks Nepal.

This is our faces when we ate burgers with actual meat in them!

Apparently getting the local bus is super dangerous but we preferred it to getting a local flight. A little bumpy, yes, but not scary at all!

Back to some home school – today’s subject, Hillary and Everest! A story writing exercise on climbing mountains!

We met up with a lovely family we went trekking with and hiked up a big hill to the Peace Pagoda. They were great, Canadian family from a ski area out there. Such different lives but we all have the same sense of adventure! They were on the road for a year, their girls are 10 and 12. It was cool because his company enabled him to do salary sacrifice for 4/5 years – he was paid 80% over that time and is now paid as usual on his gap year. Cool, huh?
