Here was our itinerary…https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1kgojVskc7NjfJeZVJeX5A2V5aYg4jYA&usp=sharing

Kitchens are hilarious. No worktops. No oven. Teeny tiny grill. It must be so hard to cook here – it was the same when I lived here, almost a camping stove!

Our plastic footprint is terrible. They use it for everything!

Kawaii – Japanese love a cute thing. A highlight was the Tokyo vending machine with tiny fake packets of Doritos and the like. And capsule toys which the kids embraced

At 5pm there is music in each village to say its 5pm time to shut up shop and go home!

Foreign tourists – so many tourists from all over. Bus loads of them. It used to be mostly domestic tourists at all the sights.

Cheap – I swear the prices are the same as 20 years ago. A main course katsu don sets you back about 1200 yen

Will miss the conbinis. Aka convenience stores. A plethora of delights. And where we got our jungle hats from…obvs!

Smells clean!

So developed

Quiet sounds

Wont miss sleeping on the floor. My old lady back is killing me!

It has been so easy to travel around because we understand a bit of the language. I’m good at understanding, T is better at speaking!

Must have been a wonderful trip down memory lane with a couple of additional places, and having two little people with whom to share. Great that you can remember your Japanese from 20 years ago. Trust you’re having a good time in the jungle of Borneo.
