Last day or so in Stone Town…this is it, the end of the gap year!

After we arrived, we did a food tour which was really cool. He was a local guy, married to an American woman.

Lots of local food – and the guide, Lodi, clearly knew everyone around town!

Chapatis and a sweet soup thing

BBQ chicken in a spicy soup

Yoghurt drink

Sugar cane drink

It’s a beautiful old UNESCO city.

Sunday 20th August

Did a lovely walking tour this morning with a really engaging guide. We booked it on Airbnb experiences – all of our tours we’ve booked on there have been good.

Went for lunch at the famous touristy ‘local’ place where we had rice, curry, chapatis.

Sad kids cos it’s our last day!

Nothing special on our final night, leftovers for dinner and chatting about gap year highlights! Leaving our apartment at 1.30am tomorrow so early to bed! Also won’t miss this apartment – it’s v basic and no mossie nets – not what you want in malaria-mossie town!

Bye blog, won’t miss you!
